Upcoming predictive modeling workshop
/ 1 min read
Katie will be co-teaching a one-day short course at Groundwater Modeling & More (GWM2) in Princeton, NJ on June 7, 2026.
An Introduction to Predictive Modeling Workflows with Python, pyEMU, and PEST++
This course shifts focus from model input development to actionable modeling outcomes — covering data assimilation, uncertainty analysis, and decision-support analyses using PEST++ and Python automation. Topics include:
- Distinguishing predictive from explanatory modeling
- Stochastic thinking in groundwater models
- Ensemble methods and constrained management optimization
- Automating predictive modeling analyses with pyEMU
Co-instructors: Mike Fienen (USGS) and Jeremy White (INTERA Inc.)
Registration is open at the GWM2 short courses page. Basic Python and groundwater modeling familiarity recommended.
